Michael's Toyota 2010 Prius

Michael

The 2010 Prius has recently hit the market and with it a huge barrage of new information about what exactly the newest version of the Prius can do. As a result though, most people are a bit confused about what has changed from the last model of the Prius which looks awful similar. One of the biggest changes that many people may not know about is the different driving modes available on the car now, an option allowing drivers to choose how the car runs.

There are three different modes on the vehicle including EV, ECO, and Power. Each of these modes provides a different set of features that directly affect how the car operates. ECO mode for example makes the gas pedal more sensitive and as a result helps the car operate at a higher efficiency. In EV mode, the car operates on the battery only, keeping it completely silent and allowing it go upwards of a half mile. This is perfect for parking the car or moving it to the garage. It might even be a good way to go the store if your grocery store is not that far away. In Power mode, the Prius’s gas pedal becomes more responsive, working more generously with the engine to use gas and give the driver a more effective, more powerful driving experience.

For anyone that drove a Prius in the last two generations, the ability to push the car a bit in Power mode is a nice new feature, negating all the naysaying about the weak engine and slow acceleration that the vehicle often exhibited.

Toyota of Bellevue 2010 Corolla

Toyota of Bellevue 2010 Corolla

The 2010 Toyota Corolla is a model of safety and efficiency.  This great car has full functionality and is made to last.  It is also among the safest Corolla models yet.  The safety features available on this model make it a great choice for anyone and it can be equipped with plenty of extra features to suit your lifestyle.

One of the most exciting additions to the Corolla’s safety package is the tire pressure monitor system.  This technology alerts the driver when tire pressure reaches critically low levels.  While it is always important to measure pressure on your own, this system makes it easy for you to take better care of your tires.

When tire pressure is not kept at an optimal level, it can result in your tires wearing out more quickly.  This condition can lead to several unsafe scenarios because if your tires are not in good shape you will not have good control of your car.  This is especially important when weather conditions are not ideal.  When you are trying to drive in inclement weather, the last thing you want to be worrying about is whether or not your tires are going to do what you ask them to.  You also risk a blowout, and this can easily cause an accident.

Safety features are not only about protecting you when an accident occurs.  They are also meant to prevent accidents from happening in the first place, and that is what this tire pressure monitor system is designed to do.  This is a great addition to an already stellar specimen of Toyota’s long history of quality cars that are both safe and affordable.

Toyota of Bellevue 2010 Prius

Toyota of Bellevue 2010 Prius

Driving down the road can be a tough endeavor, especially on busy freeways and expressways where the last thing you want to do is come up too fast on someone or slam on your brakes unwarranted. Unfortunately, this kind of thing happens all the time to people who are trying to stay in the lane and not get into the way of anyone else on the road. If you are one of those individuals and have been seeking a way to more effectively maintain your speed and keep from having any unnecessary accidents on the road, Toyota’s new Lane Keep Assist and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control systems may be exactly what you need.

The first of these, the Lane Keep Assist works to keep your car in place according to the bearing of the road and the lane lines. If you start to drift out of your lane, the car will slowly push back towards the center of your lane, making it easy to maintain a steady, straight line without any risk of damage to yourself or the car.

The second of these, the Dynamic Radar Cruise Control system works with the cars around you as well as the road to help you maintain speed on the road without any concern for someone else going too slow or too fast. You set a specified safe distance, set the car to cruise control and if you get too close to another vehicle, the Prius will adjust its speed and slow down to maintain its distance.

These two features are both new and available on the 2010 Prius if you opt for the upgrade. Make sure to read more about how they are implemented and ensure that you don’t ever utilize the technology in replacement of your own sound judgment on the road.

Prius New Body Style

Prius New Body Style

The 2010 model of the Toyota Prius sports an entirely new cut to the body, if not a completely new look. While it might appear that at first glance the Prius is the same car we’ve come to know and love over the last decade, closer inspection will reveal that the Prius has slimmed down even more than it was already was, dropping to an even lower coefficient of drag and presenting a much sleeker, more streamlined body build that will allow the car to move a bit faster and use less fuel while doing so.

It might not mean much to most drivers, but with a new coefficient of drag at 0.25, the Prius has the lowest driving profile of any mass market vehicle and that makes it a lot smoother and more fuel efficient on the road. When you take away all that bulk and replace it with something that lets the air slip right over the top, you remove a lot of resistance. To add to the resistance cutting frame of the Prius, Toyota has also installed new friction reducing tires and a beltless engine - both features that help to cut back on the total friction that is produced by the car and to make it run smoother and with less fuel.

For anyone looking for ways in which the new 2010 Prius has upstaged itself yet again, look no further than to the simple ways the vehicle has managed to become one of the most effective on the market at reducing fuel usage, outside of its hybrid engine.

Toyota of Bellevue RAV4

Toyota of Bellevue RAV4

The Toyota Rav4, which has been around for the better part of the last 20 years has always tried to push the boundaries of what it can and will offer in any given year. For that reason, the new 2010 Rav4 is the best yet in the series. Following up from its 2009 refresh, adding a few new features in the form of a sleeker body and a new powertrain upgrade, the Rav4 in 2010 is probably the best bet for someone who needs a small, sporty, and reliable new SUV for the coming years.

The big feature on the Rav4 is of course its reliability and flexibility. You can choose between multiple engine and trim types, allowing you to customize your Rav4 for any of a dozen different uses. While it is primarily built for driving around the city and suburbs, the Rav4 can also be quite useful for those that want to take it out into the country for a quick drive or for a short camping excursion. The redesigned powertrain gives the four wheel drive of the Rav4 a much greater range and along with the 3.5L V6 upgrade, the vehicle is among the most effective of the small SUVs in getting around new terrain.

For anyone that needs a new SUV in 2010 and has found their old one a bit too bulky or gas guzzling, the new Rav4 has brought with it a ton of new features that are going to push it to the top of the list once more for small-mid sized SUVs.

Toyota of Bellevue Prius

Toyota of Bellevue Prius

The 2010 Prius has so many new features that there are a few even Toyota has forgotten to mention in one way or another. Their new commercials have gone on at length about the additions of things like the solar panels on the roof to run the air conditioning system or the reduced frame of the Prius that helps to reduce drag and boost the operation of the hybrid engine. However, one cool feature that the Prius has that many people may not know about is its ability to more effectively recycle and reuse the exhaust heat that most cars waste.

Every day, heat from exhaust is poured out of cars around the world and completely wasted. That heat is energy and any kind of energy can be used in one form or another to help power the different systems of a car. Toyota saw this and in the 2010 Prius have installed a system that will recycle exhaust heat and used to help run some of the systems in the car, including the heating system. This reduces fuel usage slightly and emissions by even more. When combined with the fuel saving nature of the air conditioning system available on the 2010 Prius, you are getting an even more efficient way to handle the climate control in the cabin.

The Prius has always been a study in ways to pick up fuel efficiency without sacrificing the comfort and luxury of a good car. That has been pushed to new limits in the 2010 version of the Prius - something that other car companies are taking note of and trying to emulate in as many ways as they can.

The Prius has always had one of the more advanced display systems in a compact car, showing off the fuel levels and the efficiency of the hybrid engine. However, in the new 2010 Prius, that system has been enhanced multiple times over to provide much more information in a much more symbiotic way. With the age of touch electronics upon us, Toyota has gone that extra mile and implemented a highly functional touch screen in the dash of the Prius that makes it much easier to interact with the car than it ever was.

The touch tracer display will show not only the volume levels and current music being played by the sound system, it will allow you to view the current speed, the temperature in the car, the trip meter, your current speed and operational power and every little detail about your hybrid engine and motor as they work. You will also be able to use the touch controls on the wheel to access this information. In addition, there is an optional upgrade for the touch screen that includes a full size NAV system with interactive map functionality.

Basically, what you get from Toyota in this new feature is the ability to interact with your car in a way that was never before thought possible. Forget the days when trying to program your clock was too hard to try - now you can do everything you need from one easy to use touch panel and if you opt for the more advanced, navigation system within that touch screen, you will get a great deal more options packed into your car than you would normally.
